Ebay HRM chest sensor

Hi does anyone own and use the £17 hrm sensors from ebay, are they reliable enough and decent enough quality , just cant justify spending another 45 on a genuine one. Any help would be great.

I bought a HRM from e bay about 3 years ago. It was a new buy it now for around £8. That was for the chest strap and the wrist watch bit. It is still in regular use. No problems.

I generally agree with the 'buy cheap buy twice' statement however I've had nothing but grief with Garmin HRM straps, the first one died after six months of very light use, this was replaced by Garmin (there was a known problem) the second one lasted a year. Followed the care instructions, I think the sender unit is ok but the straps are a bit fragile.

After my Bryton HRM strap failed I bought this one:

I know several people wo use these, never heard any have failed.
Even worth full prize of 30 Q.

My Garmin one gave up a while back, tried all the resuscitation tricks, no luck. Didn’t fancy paying Garmin prices, so got one from Decathlon, I can’t remember exactly the price, but it was a lot less than Garmin. Works fine with my Garmin 800, and you know where they are if it goes wrong. I also bought one of their own brand cadance/speed sensors, not as neat looking as Garmin's but works fine on my commuting bike, again, much cheaper.
