What width? GP 4 seasons is a good all round road tyre.

  • :) thanks
  • stupid thing that was the end of my message, 700 32's on it now not bad standard tyres to be fair but looking for a better set,
  • GP 4 Seasons are indeed good. However, I find the GP4000s (I have 23C) work better overall and almost as well in the winter so now I just keep mine on all year until they wear out.

Schwalbe Marathon is the std commuter tyre.
Marathon Plus is tougher and heavier.

GP 4 Seasons is a racier style.

Schwable durano plus are good if you want a gp4 seasons type tyre, with even more puncture resistance.

Try Conti Gatorskin 28c, Fast and VERY puncture resistant also really hard wearing. I think the 28c is about 360g per tyre which is fairly decent. You will probably save 1/2 a kilo going down to 28c which given that this is rotational weight will make a noticeable difference in speed/effort with no difference on grip
  • thanks guys some excellent choices here, just on wiggle reading up on them all :)
