Tried a new battery and now the bloody thing has stopped completely! Might try giving the connectors a clean up.0

HRMs can give spurious results sometimes. Usually the result of poor skin contact in my experience. Can also reportedly be due to interference from some types of clothing and low battery might be a potential cause, I'm not sure about that one.0

I've just given female connectors on the strap a little clean and my heart has appeared again. I'm alive0

A nice clean female connection can revive most of us, if not try Viagra.0 -
My HRM stopped, changed battery but the result was intermittent readings , checked connections but still intermittent readings so got a tube of ECG gel from the local chemist result spot on readings no spikes or dropouts.0

When I had this problem it was a skin contact problem. The problem stopped when I started to sweat.0
