Does anyone think we will see the roads lined as they were for the TDF?
Not really seen much publicity around it as it starts on Sunday. Stage 2 goes right past my village so booked Monday off to go and see the teams close up.

Doubt it, but I have Wednesday off so they will at least get a drunken cheer from the best pub I can find on the route :P0

Starts from my home town on Weds - nothing to say it will be coming through other than the yellow AA signs warning of delays due to a cycle event and a few flyers in the LBS. Bit of a mute build up
Have booked the day off and am looking forward to it, although watching it from a pub on route sounds good too0 -
There's a big poster advertising it on the railings near a roundabout in Chesham, but that's all I've seen...Big Red, Blue, Pete, Bill & Doug0

Im thinking of cycling to llandudno to see it.0

Stage 7 comes within half a mile of home so I guess I'll pop along and watch my nearest Strava segment get destroyed“You may think that; I couldn’t possibly comment!”

It goes near my house on the Saturday, on its way up and over Beachy Head. I shall be in London though getting ready to see Kate's Bush. At least I shall see the final two stages in London on Sunday.0

You mean Tour of England?0

Stage 4 will kill my Strava times along the Portway but not up Bridge Valley Road cause I only descend it, not ascend it. I ain't stupid, hills are for riding down, not up. Local road closure signs say the Portway will be closed for an hour when I rode the section of the Portway in 5 minutes tonight so my Strava times might be intactI've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0 -

You'll probably only get real cycling fans out to watch it...and that...is a very good thing.0

The Tour of England & Wales then.0 -

Hardly seems worth it, it will be back to the Tour of Britain next year after the Scots have voted.0 -

If your local Council's hadn't decided to be stereo typically tight fisted you might still have a stage
There were banners up in Abergavenny when I went through on Saturday (near the finish for Stage 3). That Stage 3 finish on The Tumble is going to be rammed. The climb is closed from 4am until 6pm - should be a great atmosphere as Caerphilly mountain has had in recent years.0 -
Stage 1 goes past my front door eight times0

is she riding?
i suspect that the entire devon stage will be heaving... dartmoor has been jam packed for the last two years0 -
On my way to a week off in Anglesey, and plan to stop and watch stage 2 on the way :-). If they all get out of Liverpool with the wheels still on;-)0

I live near the southern end of Sefton Park in Liverpool which is on the route for Sunday's stage. I will try to find time to watch the riders whizz around along with the F1 and working on my dissertation!
I use part of the route for my commute into uni each day. The road surface in Sefton Park is perfect which will be great for racing. However, the surface from Princes Park roundabout to Sefton Park is terrible. I've spotted a few filled in potholes, but it's not going to be great for the riders.
I reckon the aforementioned roundabout might be the best place to watch though. It has been newly resurfaced as part of the government's Cycle Safety Fund work and will offer a good chance to see the riders taking it at speed.0 -

Hilarious. No really, it is.0 -
It gets further South and West every year. Next year it could end up being 'Tour of the Irish Sea'..........

surely its all about what council is willing to accommodate the road closures and crowds? 'Im certainly not going to complain, off to watch it in Liverpool today and then its goes right past my work tomorrow for Stage 2. Anyone else going to watch in Liverpool today? Or how much the ToB organisers can be bothered to shmooz other councils. Can you imagine how dull the TdF would be if they went to the same places every year? If they are going to call it the Tour of Britain they could at least make an effort to include more than the same small part of it every year.Faster than a tent.......0 -
I watched them whizz past once at the southern end of Sefton Park and then went back inside to watch on TV.
Liverpool looked good, what a lovely day for it!0 -
