(posting in Beginners as well as under Amateur Race as this event is for anyone, however new to the sport. Definitely not just for those who are already keen racers!)
For anyone in the Midlands who has wondered about having a go at a 10-mile TT but not yet found an event to ride or plucked up the courage, here is a golden opportunity:
- Novices 10-mile TT
- Saturday 13th September, 4pm (signing on from 3pm)
- Wolvey Heath, meet behind the old Axe and Compass Pub, LE10 3HG
- £5 to ride
- No pre-entry, just come along and sign on
- Any road-worthy bike can be ridden
Full details and contact information here: http://mwtts.org.uk/sites/default/files ... 0flyer.pdf
The course is the K41/10, details here: http://midlanddc.org.uk/courses?area=K41&course=K41/10
The event is the last counting event in the Midlands Women's TT Series ( http://www.mwtts.org.uk ) but this event is not just for women. All will be welcome, male or female - and more experienced time triallists and club riders will be welcome too.

The Axe and Compass is now called Pesto - an Italian restaurant for anyone looking for the pub.0

Indeed. I think the Pesto website says something like "Pesto at the Axe and Compass" or something like that, in recognition of the fact that the Axe and Compass was a well-known local landmark. Anyway, it's on the five-ways roundabout at Wolvey Heath. If you find the roundabout you'll find the event.

We had a fabulous turn out on Saturday for our novices' TT. All the results and photos are here - http://mwtts.org.uk/results-2014-event-7-full
61 riders of which 26 were novices and 23 were women!
Lots of fun and smiles around the result board and plenty of tea and cake polished off. Many thanks to all the helpers and friends of the Midlands Women's TT Series who put the event on and massive thanks to Mick, Linda and Steve from Hinckley CRC for their help and support.
