Is there any way I can do this? Even loading direct onto the unit and synching still doesn't put them onto Garmin Connect.

Any tricks or cheats?

  • Are you trying to import a course onto a Garmin GPS unit or just onto Garmin Connect?
Whichever it is go onto Google and type something like "garmin [unit name] import course" or "garmin connect import course"
Hopefully there will be something there.
I'm not getting old... I'm just using lower gears......

What exactly are you trying to acheive, presumably you already have the course as a fit file or gpx.

Why put it into garmin connect as another course?

One reason for getting courses currently present on other sites into Garmin Connect would be so that Garmin Segments could be used. This is because you cannot follow live Segments when following a course created on another site.

I'm not aware of a way of loading a TCX/GPX course created on another site into Connect.

If you have previously ridden the course and have uploaded the ride into Connect you can convert a ride into a Course.

I'd be tempted to simply re-create the Course in Connect as it only takes a few minutes to do one of 70 miles in length.

Thanks Brandon, I am glad that someone understood me.

I was hoping there was a simple way to do it but have now re-drawn them in GC. My main purpose was to share them with friends who cannot get their head around manually loading routes. We have a trip planned and I wanted to share the planned routes with a simple way for people to upload them.

Having GC segments is an added bonus.
