BBB pump won't inflate a flat tube, but OK on partly flat!

I have a BBB mini pump with holes for both Presta and Schrader valves. It will inflate a tube fine unless it's totally flat. In that case all the air comes out through the Presta valve hole. It seems to need some air resistance to work. Anybody got any tips? My last one certainly wasn't like this but sadly I lost it.

    Can't you stick your thumb on the valve top and pump?

    i have a tioga track pump that is odd like that too....

    what is the position of the valve when you are trying to pump?

    i found i have to have the valve at the 6 o'clock position for the valve to work properly.

    Tried it with the lock on, didn't think to try with it off. Worth a go!

    Make sure the valve is upside down to start off
    A Flock of Birds
    + some other bikes.

    but i find just having the valve at the bottom of the wheel moves the valve without having to put my mouth on it and assisting it myself :wink:
