I already own a pair of Castelli free aero which I like and a pair of ASSOS S13 which I like even more.

I can buy the Castelli Bodypaints for half the price of the ASSOS T CENTO - which seems to make it a no brainer, however, I really appreciate how comfortable the ASSOS shorts feel after 100 miles. Has anybody got any experience of both shorts?

Probably not. No one can afford both.

I have both. The S7 T.Cento is hands down the best pair of bibs I've ever had. Not taking anything away from other bibs like the S5 or Castelli, but it really is a game changer. I have a lot of experience with Body Paints and the Progetto X2 pad and I do rate them highly. I did a 12hr TT this weekend in my Body Paint skinsuit and didn't suffer from any discomfort.

  • I have both. I loved the Castellis until i bought the Assos. Now i never wear the former and have bought several more of the latter. There is no better short.
  • Another thumbs up for the comfor of the Body Paint Progetto.

Only criticism would be that the shorts get holes in them if you fall off

Well then buy the Assos as you get free crash repairs thus protecting your investment.

Are there any shorts out there that are built fairly sturdy? Years ago shorts were made from heavier fabric and even in a crash they had a chance to survive, intact. Nowadays I'm not sure that's possible. :?
