Cycling in / through the Olympic Park

I need to cycle to Leyton tomorrow from SW London. One option seems to take me up the west side of the Olympic Park along the River Lee Navigation is this a good route? Or can/should I cycle through the middle of the park? Basically I need to get from the A11 / A12 junction up to Lee Bridge road where it goes over the railway. Thanks in advance.

p.s. I need to do this for a couple of days there and back, so could go different routes on different days / directions.
