Hi guys.
Currently running 10apeed Tiagra compact 50/34.
I have been looking at replacing the outer chainring for an FSA 52T.
Will this be ok? Or will it be to tall?
Thanks

16T max at the front ring on a compact, it wont work well/at all any more than that. You could do 36/52 though0

Thanks.
All gets confusing when reading bits online.
Will stick to 50/34 then.
Thanks!

Why do you want a 52 outer but still want a 34 inner? Unless you're constantly spinning out on a 50 outer, I can't fathom the logic of changing when the speed advantage is just over 1mph at a cadence of 100rpm in the 12 cog. Let's imagine you regularly spin at 120rpm in the 12, the speed difference is 1.6mph. You could make that up spinning a couple of rpm harder. If you like the comfort of the 34 for hills, I'd stick with the 50 otherwise you'll need a 36 to go with the 52, plus a bigger cassette if you do want to keep the 34 for hills.
