Test rode this recently, then bought it the day after. It was that good.

Got a nice deal through work which helped too.

Stock, apart from the pedals, stem and bar.

Weight is 28.6lbs on the Park Tool scales at work, (with pedals). Very quick and really comfy too!

Its my first carbon mountain bike, and although the wheelsize took a little bit of getting used too, it now feels second nature. with 430mm chainstays it also goes round corners! Amazing!

Still, few photos, let me know what you think.

Really like the look of the frames. Shame its got silly wheels.
    Closet jockey wheel pimp whore.
  • Thought I'd treat the bike to a few upgrades.

The 2015 Fox 36 in 160mm. Thought I'd try these as I work in a bike shop and Mojo like that. and a CCDBA CS.

The fox feels amazing just from setting it up to the base setting.

The shock again feels great and with some tinkering should be bang on.

    Weight is 29 8lbs.

    Pretty pleased with that.

  • Well since ive had the bike ive changed it a little.

Done over 600 miles on it in 7 weeks so getting some use. Mainly riding to work with some big rides chucked in.

I've swapped the X01 for XT/XTR/Saint 10 speed. Just couldn't justify the cost when it comes to replacing the cassette and going to sell up while the cassette still has plenty left in it.

Paid £10 for an XTR shifter and £30 for the Saint mech from a mate so couldn't really say no, and had a freehub lying about in my spares box.

Also got a Custom Orange and Black RRP Enduroguard.

    Spec wise is as below:

    Specialized Enduro Expert Carbon 11M 2014 29 in a Large. 19" frame.
    2015 Fox Float RC2 160 29.
    Fox Performance CTD Rear Shock
XT Brakes with 180mm Ice Tech Rotors
XTR Shifter, XT Cassette, Saint Mech, Hope 34t N/W and Sram Carbon Cranks 175mm, BB30
    Roval Traverse Wheels.
Renthal Fatbar Carbon, 30mm Rise and uncut at 785mm.
Easton Haven Stem in Black, 55mm.
Trail King and Purgatory Grid, running tubeless with Spesh 2bliss Rim Strips
Specialized Sip Grips with IR Command Post.
    Henge 143 Saddle.

Next on the list is a CCDB Inline or Rockshox Monarch +.

Rides amazingly. Been smashing my PR's on Strava and even getting a few cheeky KOM's here and there. IVe added some photos below.

Let me know what you think and any advice you would give me.

    Thanks
    Pete

  • Lovely bike, I like the stealth look a lot :)

WOuld you mind elaborating on differences between 2015 Fox Float RC2 160 29 and Pike forks?
  • So as always, bits have been changing here and there.

The sram 11 speed had to go back to fisher and be warrantied so i couldn't be without a drivetrain. Saw that the new XTR 11 speed had been released so that went on, along with a slightly smaller chainring to aid on the hills.

Currently weighing up selling this and getting a Trance Advanced to free up a little bit of money to help aid christmas.

Still, here's a photo or two:
