Hi - another request for help on bikes !!! Many thanks if you can help.
I am looking for my first cyclocross bike - I mostly do triathlon these days but used to be a roadie many years ago.
I am looking to get a cyclo-cross bike to train in the winter on muddy tracks and forest gravelled roads. I am also looking to race cyclo-cross this year to try to keep a little fitness. I am also planning on the Three Peaks next year....
I am 5'9", 67kg and 45 years old if that makes any difference....
I have been looking at (in order of likelihood/keenness):
1. Ridley X-Fire 20 Disc
2. Planet-X Dirty Disco (? XLS)
3. Focus Mares CX 3.0
4. Specialized Elite Carbon Crux Disc
ie keen not to go over £2k and nearer £1k is even better :-)
What do you think ? Any other suggestions ?
Also, anyone got suggestions for good reputable bike shops in the South West (Gloucestershire)/Midlands/East Wales area ?
Many thanks.....
