Tubeless conversion?

I am interested in giving this a go. I have a set of Archetypes and carbon clinchers, both 23mm. As I understand it if I purchase the Schwalbe 1 tubeless tyre bundle can I then convert to tubeless or do I need a Stans no-tubes kit with new valves etc? Confused :?

Interesting topic - tried to find the Schwalbe tubeless tyre bundle - but couldn't find it. Although there is this:

I think you need Stans tape, valves and sealant (possibly with an injector) and you are good to go.
I did find this however - I do have Bontrager wheels from 2010:

So apologies for hijacking your thread but I wandering if I can use them on these wheels.0 -
You need tubeless rim tape (21 mm one) and tubeless valves. You need sealant too if you want them puncture proof, but it might or might not come with the tyres...
The ONE are great!

Archetypes are not tubeless compatible rims though are they? Not for high pressure road tyres at least.0

They are fine... I know of people who use them tubeless with Hutchinson and Schwalbe. You don't need high pressure anyway... 80-90 is plentyleft the forum March 20230 -
Great info, thanks guys. I was aware that the Archetypes could be used tubeless thanks to Paolo's previous posting on the subject but was not entirely sure what bits I needed. Want to run lower pressure without fear of flats during the winter. Views on going tubeless with carbon rims??? Read your review of the new Schwalbe One earlier which is the most likely option for me. From Bike24 the price is good too.0

Thanks for the link. Just bought two of the tyres at 35 euros each, which is waaay cheaper than anywhere in the UK.0 -

Do you think my Ambrosio Excellight will be suitable for tubeless?

Difficult to build up the pressure and make sure they stay air tight, you might have to build up the rim bed with several layers of tape. Besides, Ambrosio are only 13 internal, not sure there is room for the tubeless valve AND the tyre bead. There are narrower tube valves than Stan's with a rectangular section, but they are not as air tight.
Moral, I would get a wider, possibly tubeless ready rim. Velocity A 23 are probably the cheapestleft the forum March 20230 -
Archetype runs fine tubeless. I have run 25mm Fusion3s, 25mm Bonty R3s, 28mm Hutch Sectors, Vittoria CX tyres and all of them have been fine on the Archetypes with two runs of 19mm 3M crossweave tape and a Stans valve.Facts are meaningless, you can use facts to prove anything that's remotely true! - Homer0
