Gearing/Cassette advise please
HI All,
I currently have a racing double chain setup with 11-25 on the rear wheel all 105.
I am finding this a bit of a struggle on some slopes.
I am fortunate enough to have been given a 11-28 rear cassette.
Is it a case of just swapping the cassettes over? Or will i need a new chain (My current one isn't very old).
As long as i don't use big front and big rear cogs?
Please advise me on what's best.
Thanks in advance
Rich

The 'length' of the chain will probably be fine, but if the chain is worn (stretched) then it might not work well with different cassette gears (or the different cassette gears might be too worn).
Visually inspect the shape of the cassette teeth on both of them to estimate how much difference there is between them.
If the 28 tooth cassette has a lot of wear, then maybe buy a new cassette and chain to avoid problems.
Only way to know for sure is to try ....
