Things are beginning to take shape with less than a week to go to this years races. Following the announcement that Russell Downing will be in this years race the riders list is now on the website. Some great riders and famous teams in this years event.

As well as this the evening programme has been updated to show you the order of events.

    Wolverhampton born Andy Tennant who recently was part of the Men's Pursuit Team that included Sir Bradley Wiggins will ride the Newport Nocturne Cycle Race tomorrow night. Graham Briggs recently won the Milk Race in Nottingham has also confirmed entry. It looks like it is a race the pros are taking very seriously. See the full rider list at

    For those that don't know this I can confirm its a great little event embraced by the whole town. Well worth a trip.

    Oh - that's Newport near Stafford then, not S Wales.

    The best one is in South Wales, though - it's in Pembs.

    Apparently many years ago a rider did turn up in Newport in South Wales and was baffled when there was nobody there.

    It's amazing that a small town like Newport gets such a big crowd for an event like this.

    So much love for this event in the area.
