Anyone seen one in the flesh yet, specifically the red one?

Ta. Pretty interested. But, I'm torn.
For value, I'd get the 105 version (black) and spend £500 on some decent wheels.
But, that red one, with the crap wheels, is lovely. My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

I can't help thinking it would make more sense to go with another brand which has a longer pedigree of designing carbon bikes or wait a couple of generations until they have ironed out the bugs. To go from nothing to top of the line performance is never done in one iteration.0

Red and black one in my local shop, Mikes Bikes in Portishead. Very good looking frame and very fast on a car park test, steal at £1300.0

What sort of 'bugs' would you be expecting?0 -
Well, for example look at how the wiring hole is covered over on the top of the line Di2 bike
Looks dreadful to me on a £4k bike.
Maybe I'm being over cautious but when I am spending a large amount of money, I would rather not be an early adopter, I would prefer to buy tried and proven designs. But buy all means go ahead and buy one, then you can tell me how good it is so I can add it to the list.
I do ride a Genesis bike, btw.0 -

It's an interesting one. I've always been offered ten percent. So, that would make that particular one £1170. I could probably get £300 or so for the group set and wheels. Making the frame and bits £870. I could add Ultegra at way under £500 and Racing 7's at £100 and be hugely under the price of the £1999 Red frame version.
Similarly I could get the frame only at £1099 less 10% and still be under.
That's the ONLY thing that puts me off Genesis builds. But I'm quite close to pressing go on one of these. My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

A bug is generally something which prevents performance or stops something working properly. That's a poor choice of bung. I'd imagine the normal version will be ok.My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

Maybe he meant 'bung', not 'bug'...0

it's best not to iron bungs. Mind, it's not a good idea ironing bugs!My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

It is £1099 for the frame and forks, or £1300 built? Christ. Presumably you get to choose frame colour with frame only?Red bikes are the fastest.0 -

Nope. No choice.
It's my constant beef with Genesis. Pricing, for example, an Ultegra bike at £300 more than a 105 one is silly when the differential in price cannot be that much.
But pricing a frame at £200 less than a full build with Tiagra and wheels is daft.My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

Similarly, you could buy a Chinese FM-069 frame for £300. The only real difference as far as I can see between the two frames, are the head tube junctions.
The FM-069 frame came out ages ago btw.

You could probably carry out that comparison with very many frames.

That's because you've just posted a picture of a FM069 frame from the Hongfu alibaba website. The only difference is that it's been painted.0 -
Indeed, I've posted a picture of the FM069 frame, in lighter conditions, to illustrate the difference between it and the Genesis frame. My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

I noticed these too recently as well but there are so few details. A call to madsion today left me with nothing more, no geometry details no spec details although the pics tell you most of what you need to know on the spec. Where have you seen the frame and fork? A quick look at the B2B does not show it available. I am not even sure the frame and fork will be officially available.
The red does look good though and seeing as it the same frame as the top end model you might as well buy the lower rung model and sell the components you don't want and fit the bits you do want.http://www.thecycleclinic.co.uk -wheel building and other stuff.0 -

They are buying the bike and stripping the bits of it as you cannot but the frameset alone from Sportline at present. Only the top end bike is available and one other lower end model. If they are stripping the team bike I am not sure that all the components are worth £3.5k something odd going on here. Some of the sizes in the £1300 bikes are available and if Ukbike depot are striping those then they won't be in the team colours like advertised. Something fishy here if anyone goes for this call them first and ask what they actually have. That means UKbike depot are taking a £1300 bike and stripping the wheels and groupset and probably selling them on for more than £200 and making £1100 on the frame and fork. Not bad if they can get away with it.http://www.thecycleclinic.co.uk -wheel building and other stuff.0

thecycleclinic - you seem to be making bold assertions there based on very little evidence. Maybe they have just got stock early as they're such a big seller of Genesis bikes?0

Honest question, is everything always on there? I ask because, it seems to me, Genesis launches can be a little scattergun! My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

Very scattergun. The whole 2015 range appeared slowly over august but the zero range just over a week ago and they were in stock in some sizes for the team bike. The lower rung models are out of stock may be uk bike store bought them all. Most are arrving through september and october. A few in november. Not good for dealers I can assure you. Also delivery dates slipped in august. The croix der frames were menat to arrive in 26/08/2014 now it is october or is november I forget. The Criox der fers with the RS685 disc brake system are november as the date for those STI keep slipping as well, mine have been on back order with madison since feb. First delivery in July then august now november.
The point is never trust expected delivery dates given by distributors they are repeating what they are told. Until it arrives it doesn't exist in my mind. Every week I see delivery dates slip, get advanced or disparear altogeter, don't trust them I don't.http://www.thecycleclinic.co.uk -wheel building and other stuff.0 -
I asked Genesis if they are doing a Frameset only option via their FB page and they replied at some point yes. Which to me implies its not available yet. Looking at their other bikes they tend to offer the frameset in a different colour to the full bikes so you would expect them to do the same with this when it becomes available.
Keep an eye on their FB page they tend to post quite a bit of new info on there.

Saw the Dura Ace version and the Tiagra version today. The Tiagra looks a great buy at £1300 but I want an Ultegra which wasn't in stock. Not sure I'm going to like the colour of the Ultegra though looks a bit maroon on the photo I have seen, the Tiagra looked well though. Anyone seen the Zero4 (ultegra) in the flesh yet?0

Sportline are realeasing the zero frame in team colours next week. They have been holding them back and made them unavilable to buy while the tour of Britain is on incase any of the team need one I found out yesterday. I hope they are realeased next week team colours look fab.http://www.thecycleclinic.co.uk -wheel building and other stuff.0
