Hi all,
have just finished my complete re-build of my old Spesh Hardrock frame. It had already evolved a long way from the original bike, but as it was looking very tatty, I decided to strip the frame completely, repaint it and start from scratch.
Here's what it looked like before:
23 minutes later:
I toyed with the idea of drilling out the top-tube-mounted cable stops to make them hose-friendly, but still didn't like the idea of having the hose routed along the top of the toptube, so ground them off completely and replaced with the stick-on Jagwire hose routers along the underside:
Having primed and painted the frame, I then applied decals and lacquer-coated over the top:
And then built it up. I'd planned to go 2x, but on assembly found that the "New" chain I'd purchased off ebay had obviously been removed from a new bike, as it wasn't long enough to accomodate the 36T middle ring, so it's currently sporting a 32T single ring instead:

You won't need to clean it so often as you won't see the mud.0

Very similar colour to the brown Specialized used as the chequers on the similar age P1 AM.
Nicely specced bike....bit similar to mine in concept (link in sig).Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0 -

I haven't made any attempt to keep the weight down, though, unlike yourself (apart from taking care not to fit massively heavy tyres). Current build weighs 12.1kg, according to the bathroom scales.
For anyone interested, rough spec is:
Fork: Revelation RL Dual Position Air 2011
Drivetrain: SLX 10-speed, with eThirteen 32T Guidering
Brakes: Deore m596, 180/160mm rotors
Wheels: Hope Pro II hubs on WTB SpeedDisc AM rims
Saddle/Post: Charge Spoon on RaceFace Ride
Bars/Stem: Superstar Vector 700mm/ Gravity Gap 60mm0 -
The P1 AM is quite rare, basically a Rockhopper with slightly slacker Geo and 120mm forks (RH's at the time were 100mm), my Son had one for a while until we reframed it into a Scott Genius RC20 FS frame (another link in my sig!).Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0
