Vuelta - Stage 6 - How do I get to it?

Ok. So I find myself in Andalucia during the Vuelta and need a bit of help to get to it. Stage 6 passes through Velez Malaga which is about 20km from where we're staying near Competa. Does anyone have any experience of watching a vuelta stage? What's road access like beforehand? Will we be able to park within walking distance to any of this route? If so where etc? I rode to the tdf stage 2 to beat the road closures but haven't got access to a bike over here and there's no way the missus will walk any distance in this heat. It's taking everything to drag her away from the pool for a day :D

    We went to see a stage in 2012 and it is much more relaxed than the tour. Crowds aren't so big so easy access to most but the biggest mountain stages is quite straight forward
