Looking to replace the white bar tape from my Canyon CF SL 9.0. Really like the feel of the tape that's on it but it's white and I'd prefer black.
How much difference does there tend to be from a £5.99 tape to a £20 tape?

Look at the material not the price or the brand if you want to be a tart and match up with the bars/stem.
My Mike Giant bar tape is by far the comfiest and grippiest I've used, actually don't know what material it is mind and could look daft!0 -
Have used Bontrager Gel Tape on all my builds. Wraps well and has excellent feel and comfort levels.

As a "belt and braces"exercise I also bought a pack of the Iso gel padding which is applied under the normal gel tape for that extra comfort factor.

Works well for me0 -

Have a go yourself it's not that hard, if you get a bit wrong just unwrap and re do then when it's done you can feel proud of the good job you did, loads of helpful vids on youtube.0

Maybe I will, but I'm the least practical person on earth. It'll probably catch fire when I do it. :shock:Trainer Road Blog: https://hitthesweetspot.home.blog/

, I have the patience of a rabid wolf but I found it quite therapeutic.
Interested in what you go for as my 9.0 SL has white tape and I would be better with black or a black & white mix.0 -
Watch a couple of youtube vids and give it a go...
I used this recently

Not quite £20 but it's much nicer than the tape that came with my entry level bike. 8)0 -
Tried a few manufacturers and much prefer Lizard Skins. Expensive, but I like the feel and the grip it gives.I ride a bike. Doesn't make me green or a tree hugger. I drive a car too.0

It's gotta be Lizard Skins for me. Fantastic stuff - great grip in the wet and tactile when dry. Best stuff I've come across by a country mile. Perfect (except for the price!).

I have this stuff on my Basso:

My new favourite tape. Way better than the luxury leather stuff on my other bike. And so cheap.BMC Team Machine SLR01

You could buy Canyon's own stuff again if you like it. Postage might be an issue though.0

I've just retaped my bars with profile designs gel cork tape, its not adhesive backed & is really comfortable & strong so you can get the tape nice and taught without it snapping.
I paid £9.99 from Evans0 -
