This is presently being sold at a discount of £80. But what I cannot see is the description of the difference between the snake and chameleon types. Can any one advise me.?

Snake apparently is someone who can easily touch their toes (flexible) and chameleon is someone who can only get to about a foot or so above their toes when bending (normal!)

Also be aware of the diameter of the rails which may pose a problem fitting your bike. If you have a fixed seat post also be aware that the Kurves are quite 'tall' from rail to seat and will probably be different to your current saddle. No problem on the last point if you have a normal adjustable seat post!

part of chain reaction cycle's year end sale. I tend to buy my expensive stuff that way - not being bothered about up to date stuff. in past got rs80 carbon wheels for £300 and r220 shimano shoes for £80 next day were £70.

The early Kurves had problems with the webbing splitting

definition of 'early' , site has 365 day return.
  • Bought the Kurve chameleon from CR with 15% off !made it 82 or thereabouts.

TOP TOP saddle, I've tried a lot and now no longer need to... Enough said.

I'm 53 reasonably flexible and the chameleon does it for me.
  • I got a Fizik Kurve chameleon a few months ago, and thought my saddle hunt was over, super comfy all day long, but the webbing underneath started to split. Got in touch with Fizik and they had a brand new saddle out to me within a few days, brilliant customer service. Any way the new saddle is an updated version with a reinforced base, looks like aramid fibers and is thicker than the old one. There is significantly less flex with the new one and consequently is quite a bit less comfortable than the old one :( So be aware that if you have the older style it will probably split and your replacement might not be as comfortable can't fault Fizik for their service though.

Something to keep my eye on then, reason I got Fizik was that the one I had as original spec was comfy until yje 'plastic' support snapped then it was even comfier but had to go obviously.
