Cardiff area

I'm going to be working in the Cardiff area for a while soon (specifically Cardiff gate) and was thinking of taking my bike with me for some shortish rides in the evening. I assume the riding round there is excellent but can anyone recommend any specific routes around 20-30 miles? The area on the other side of the M4 looks nice on the map

    Search for a local cycling club, see if they''ve got a Facebook group and ask them.

    Ajax has over 400 members, which means there are always people about with which to go riding. Jif is very race-oriented and Cardiff Tri is well... Clue is in the name. There's also Cardiff 100 milers who are a good group, but there's not many about.
