So having been here a while and just finishing the build of my latest addition I thought I'd post some pics up for critism!
First up is my 2013 Tarmac SL4, which is my second Tarmac after starting out with a 2012 Tarmac upgraded to Ultegra and a few other bits.
I then had the opportunity to upgrade to the SL4 which came with a few nice bits, Enve seat post and S-works cranks being the main ones.
It sat and was used liked that on the Miche / Open Pro wheel set for a while and whilst they are perfectly good wheels I spotted something on Gumtree locally that had to be investigated. So a few weeks later I ended up buying these for use on fast club rides and 10m TT which I do with the local club.
Tarmac SL4 spec:
Frame and fork: SL4 Fact 10r
Groupset: Ultegra 6700 with S-Works chainset and Praxis rings
Wheels: Miche and Open Pro or Dura Ace C50
Finishing kit: Tarmac bars, S-Works stem, Enve seat post, Arundel tape
Saddle: Romin Pro carbon
Next up we have my winter and commuter hack, an as yet unifentified Italian steel frame with Tiagra / 105 mix, it's actually a nice ride and was my first road bike after getting into it in 2012. I spent a good few months using this before getting the black and white Tarmac.
Finally we have my latest addition, it started as a rough frame my mate bought on eBay whilst he was having a fit of buying Colnagos up and I just couldn't resist the minute I saw it in the flesh.
The main issues were some corrosion on the seat and chain stays which you can just make out here:
This was just before Christmas 2013 and I then spent the next few months collecting parts up whilst the frame was being painted by a very good painter local to us in Bristol, not Argos btw.
The frame came back looking stunning!
After a long Friday night fueled with beer and fish & chips, it was finished, this was a few weeks ago and I've not ridden anything else but this, it's a joy to ride and everyone else seems to love it too, so many nice comments!
Anyway, I'll let the pictures of th finished bike do the talking.
And a final shot from Sunday whilst out with my mate and his lovely Tecnos:
Full spec of the Master:
Frame: Colnago Master Tange Ultimate
Fork: 1" threadless Colnago Flash carbon
Groupset: Campagnolo Centaur 10spd with carbon cranks
Wheels: Miche hubs, H Plus Son archetype, Sapim spokes
Tyres: Vittoria Open Corsa CX
Finishing kit: Deda 02 range, stem cap from Kapz
Saddle: Fizik Antares carbon
Tape: Cinello Caleido

Are you married? If not, would you like to be?!
Lovely bikes!FCN 3 / 40 -
Couple of things I'd like to change on the Master are a different stem as the Deda one is too big in diameter for the main tubes and I'd like a stainless or polished bottle cage.Colnago Master Olympic

Pretty, but does that bottle cage actually have "Specialized" stamped on it?

Yes it does, was the only silver cage I had at the time.
As I said in my other post, it's to be replaced ASAP.Colnago Master Olympic

Lovely paint job on the Master - can I ask which company you used? (I'm local to Bristol too).
Cheers

Sure, it was Tim at http://www.tjcdesign.com
He doesn't list that he does bike work but as you can see he does!
He re-did the forks too.
He recently re-did a lovely Ciocc too.Colnago Master Olympic

Well that is a really lovely job on the Master, beautiful 8)
I've got these on my Master, lovely classic cages but they use a gel to hold the bottle firm and it does sometimes squeak: -

Nice collection of bikesPain hurts much less if its topped off with beating your mates to top of a climb.0

Both came to me for very good prices, the SL4 frame, forks, post and cranks cheaper than the Enve post and S-Works cranks retail for.
The Ultegra went onto that and I sold the black and white Tarmac on with a 105 set up.
Besides, both are nice rides.
I haven't ridden anything other than the Master since building it tho!Colnago Master Olympic

Just before winter set in I took the decision to get my commuter / winter bike blasted and powder coated as it was showing some corrosion in a few spots and wanted to take care of it before it got worse.
So off it went to a local metal finishers for a 2 coat powder coat of light blue and silver sparkle.
The wraps came off:
Built up with a mix of silver 105/Tiagra and long drop brakes, it's now sporting a polished stem to match the seat post too:

You ve cracked it mate.
Fast modern carbon sports bike. Classic steel legend. Do it all Hack bike.
I m slowly getting there. My stable.. Cervelo R3. Planet x Kaffenback. On One 456 MTB.
Just waiting (saving) to add the Colnago Master. Would give up all the others ( bar the Kaffenbach surprisingly) to have a decent Master in the stable.
Love yours. gotta be a Deco.0 -
Is the Master still your favourite ride?0
-
It certainly is.
I've just received and Eilte Cuissi Inox cage for it which should top it off nicely and when these tyres are worn I am going to go to 25mm.
Only thing is last Sunday I fell off on sheet ice whilst on a club ride and now have a broken Neck of Femur with 3 pins in it. Probably around 3 months or so off the bike for me nowColnago Master Olympic

Cheers mate.
I was on the winter bike, no damage to it what so ever. Would've preferred it the other way round!

I've been back on the bikes a few weeks now following my broken femur and loving it.
The bikes have had a clean, some new bits fitted and I thought I'd take some photos.
First up, the Master with it's new bottle holder.

When this frame came up on eBay a few months ago in my size I just had to have it, only seen this paint scheme in one other Master and another Dream so it's pretty rare.
Through upgrading the Master to Chorus 11 I've transferred the Centaur 10 onto this and swapped the freehub on some spare wheels I had, new finishing kit and here we are.

Bit of a change in the fleet.
The Tarmac has been sold, I just wasn't riding it due to having the two Colnagos to choose from aswel.
A guy in the local club bought it, he seems pleased, I kept the H Plus / DT wheelset for the Dream and sold it on the Open Pro / Miche ones.
This freed up some money and these found themselves in my company yesterday morning:
I had a great autumn on both the bikes but retired the Master for the winter after a grubby ride with a mate on his Baum, wet brake dust ruined my tan walls!

How does the ride of the Dream compare to the Master?
That colour scheme is very rare. Fantastic pair of Colnagos.

Thanks David.
The Master is sublime, comfortable, precise and agile, it's my high days bike and I love riding it.
The Dream is quite different, it's stiff, really stiff!
The big chain stays and oversized main triangle really give it a direct feel which tbh on a longer ride can be a tiresome.
I think the combination of stiff aluminium frame and aluminium finishing kit are the culprit and I'm looking to swap out the bars and post for some carbon items to take a bit of the sting out.
It'll be interesting to see how it rides on the 303s, they should dampen it a bit and they're tubular so some comfort could be found there.
That said I do still like riding it, it's just a bit harsher than the Master.Colnago Master Olympic
