Merida Big 7 500 - advice

Hi Just about to sign on the dotted line on this. 2014 model with £100 off the list price of £850. Was going to go for a £650 Big7 300 2015 model but LBS is doing me a deal on the one they have in stock.

Is it a decent spec for £750?

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The Merida Big Seven Alloy 500 2014 is a nimble hardtail mountain bike which is ideal for the local trail centre, woodland paths or even commuting to work on cycle paths.

The alloy frame is light and durable and the Rock Shox fork gives a nice smooth ride. A choice of Shimano components ensure reliable stopping from a choice of 30 gears and Shimano M445 brakes ensure accurate stopping. Big 7 Comp D wheels are fast rolling and Merida Race lite 29er tyres are tough and sturdy, but lightweight at the same time.

The Merida Big Nine Alloy 300 2014 makes light work of obstacles, flies round berms and chugs its way merrily up ascents, perfect for riding in the rough.
