Problem installing centaur red ergo levers
I am embarrassed to post this as I’m stuck on what should be a simple task.
On all my other campagnolo ergo levers (mk II and mkIII) you feed the gear cable in under the hood into the ratchet mechanism, it feeds through, you drop it into the smaller gear, stick it on, tape it up and stretch it a few times, job done.
The recently purchased centaur red levers look different. As far as I can see (no fitting instructions) they feed in though a different dedicated hole. Having done this my rear gears click once then jam, whilst the front lever has no resistance. You move the lever across, but it does not hold the front mech and moves back again.
Either I have a faulty pair of levers (ebay purchase – second hand but clearly not used) or –more likely- I am being a mechanical nimrod and I’m missing something very obvious.
I can’t take a photo as I always hit file size issues on this site.
Any help would be welcomed. Have campagnolo moved the cable start point? I’ve got another pair of veloce mark III levers (which I think are the same as Centaur in all but colour) but on these you fit in the cable in ratchet as per older pairs.
