Mavic crossrides - freehub squeal of doom

So, after some googling around it seems theres two schools of thought on this problem.

1. Just replace the bushing and you're all gravy baby
2. You need to replace the pawls.

has anyone been through this, so i can seek words of wisdom?

    It's just the stupid Nylon bushings that need doing....
    Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.

    If not, buying from the US isn't that bad... I got a Hub Doctor Mavic upgrade kit pretty quick (10 days or so).
