Front Derailleur Problems

I have been going nuts trying to get this set up right and have been coming up empty handed on fixing it.
I replaced my Crank set On my 05 Cannondale from the Truvative Isoflow 22/32/44 with sealed bottom bracket to a new Shimano Deore FC-M590 Crankset 26/36/48. I have already replaced the back Derailleur to a Shimano Deore m591, the back derailleur and cogs work flawlessly but the front has a hard time switching gears especially in the low and high gear.
It has been rubbing on one side or the other on the high side and low side. and it shifts like crap.
The new crank went in smoothly with two spacers drivers side and one on the out board side so I do not think the problem is there. I have a Shimano Deore FD that came on the bike when it was built, and I am wondering if that should have been replaced to accommodate for the bigger 48 tooth chain ring.
I also installed a new chain, the x9.99
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes I have, is says 3 mmm to 5mm, tightened up my shifter adjuster all the way without the chain on and set my high and low before putting chain back on and trying it all over again, I have done it four or five times already. it runs fine in the middle chain ring.0 -

OK I have been out there the last half hour trying to get my front mech right, I have the cable loose and when I go to set my low side or my high side I do not get no movement from the screws either going in or out, does that mean I need a new front drerailleur, the front mech has good tension on it because is nice and stiff so the springs are good.
My question is why do I not get no movement from the high screw or the low screw even when they are all the way in or all the way out. Need some help here. have not rode in a week and I am getting fidgety.0
