Cracked Hub

Hi all,

I'm trying to change my cassette on my hub from 10 speed to 11 speed. When I removed my old cassette I noticed this on the hub. Any ideas how I can fix the cracked bit.

When I put on the new cassette it isn't sitting straight in the frame of my bike and I suspect the locking nut pulls on this bit so it is slightly off. Meaning that the hub doesn't turn smoothly in the frame.

Could it be glued? Or can this part of the hub be replaced?

That's for the bin! Wouldn't try gluing it or anything as I've had that exact area of my shimano freehub body come off when sprinting in the 52-12 and it wasn't good!

    That is what you need.

    Thanks for that.

Would this one work http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/mavi ... -prod33442 (i'm in the UK) i need it to run 11 speed but the blurb says for 8/9/10 speed.

Where would I get 11 speed one from if this is no good? Can't seem to see it online!

That's the one. M11 is the shimano 11 speed.

Mavics have always been 11 speed compatible by removing the 1.75mm spacer that is used for 8/9/10 speed.

Thanks - one last question - i have an old pair of Mavic Aksium so I thought I could remove the free hub body from them and swap it on. However the Ksyrium has a bigger spindle for it to slot on, so the aksium one doesn't fit.

How can I tell that this one will fit my ksyrium?

As long as it is M11 it will fit.

The new freehub body comes with a larger hole at the bearing and comes with a small tophat spacer that reduces the diameter from 9mm to 8mm.

Theres also a small washer that is for when the freehub body is going on a 9mm axle.
