Which is the best , safest and cheapest degreaser for a carbon bike ?, those sprays turn out to be awful expensive. Something that won't tarnish the frame and bulk if possible say buy say a 5L job lot and let down into my own spray bottle.

I find that Jif removes a lot of nasty stains that hot water and washing up liquid can't.Giant TCR Advanced II - Reviewed on my homepage

Don't think you really need a degreaser for the frame, damp cloth will do the job perfectly well. Swarfega do a decent, concentrated degreaser that works well on the drivetrain:

For the drivetrain I use Gunk, around £5.99 for a litre tin from Halfords, last for ages. The frame just requires hot soapy water IMHO.

Quick wipe with a damp cloth then baby wipes on the frame.
If I'm feeling generous it gets a coating of Muc Off 'Bike Spray' which makes it look new again.0 -

I use either Muc-off or Pedro's orange stuff, which is very, very smelly in an orange kind of way
It's just a hill. Get over it.0 -
I use GT-85 for cleaning the chain and Prolink ProGold for lubing it.x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x

Same here, althought for more thorough cleaning when I have the bike outside I managed to get a 5 litre container of Selden Citrus Cleaner F248 fom my local supplies shop, cost under a tenner and works a treat:

Fenwicks FS-1
(Fenwicks FS-10 is FS-1 diluted 10/1 ...FS-10 is the equivalent of all the muc-off type sprays)
http://www.merlincycles.com/fenwicks-fs1-bike-cleaner-concentrate-degreaser-48315.html
Personally, I wouldn't use it for cleaning carbon road bikes. It's OTT. Neat FS-1 is great for soaking chains and cassettes in when off the bike.
(But something like this is way cheaper and probably not far off the same??? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Virosol-Citrus-Cleaner-Degreaser-2x-5-Ltrs-/331248926828
Personally, a little bit of this for washing it http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/washing-and-drying/optimum-no-rinse-32oz/prod_773.html but starting with this http://www.wiggle.co.uk/fenwicks-foaming-chain-cleaner-200ml/ is what I generally do for the least hassle. No chain cleaner devices or anything.0 -
I also use the Fenwicks foam chain cleaner, its basically foamed FS-1 but isn't anywhere near as "strong" or as good at cleaning as citrus cleaner.WyndyMilla Massive Attack | Rourke 953 | Condor Italia 531 Pro | Boardman CX Pro | DT Swiss RR440 Tubeless Wheels

B&Q do a massive 5l tub of Swarfega degreaser for around £6 - no need whatsoever to buy the more expensive 'cycling specific' stuff, makes you realise what a rip off it is.Cannondale CAAD 10 Ultegra

POR15 Cleaner Degreaser is the best I've used. Dilute 10-1 and wear gloves and safety glasses!0

Fenwicks for me too.
I buy the concentrate and use neat in the chain bath, dilute for the rest of the bike.0 -
+1 for Morgan Blue. I use it in the chain cleaner and as a spray on the cassette. Leave it on briefly and then wash it off. Excellent results.0
