  • cool , & nice backdrop :D
  • So the bike is finished now and for my first attempt I'm really happy how it turned out, and I've managed to keep quite a tight budget and done it all for just under £150 (bike included). Most parts are used parts apart from the suntour crank and chain rings which were on sale at halfords and the jag wire cables, only parts from original bike are forks, front derailleur, front wheel and seat post. Not sure what I'm doing with the bike, wife thinks I bought it to do up and sell on but I'm quite fond of the bike now and I'm not sure there would be much profit in it.

    Here's a before and after.

  • Few pics from a quick run up a local trail/disused railway yesterday, it's my first proper off-road run on the bike and I'm really pleased with it.

What happened at the rear - you have gone back to rim brakes?
  • Yeah unfortunately the disc wheel I bought of ebay is knackered think the bearings have gone there's a hell of a lot of side to side play in it, so for the moment I've put v brakes on until I can sort the wheel out or buy a new set of wheels.
