Which brake pads?

I have a voodoo hoodoo (2012) with tektro auriga comp brakes, they work perfectly well, especially compared to the brakes on a few friends bicycles. But at some point in the near future will need new pads, so whats the crack?
Shall I just pick up the oem pads from halfords/CRC etc? Or are there more powerful/better alternatives. I only ask as I know on my track motorcycle there are many many compounds/brands to choose from in brake pads that are better than ones that come with the bikes as standard
sintered
dual sintered
carbon ceramic
etc
giving varying power/feel characteristics and working better in different conditions.
Are the same options available in the bicycle world?
Much obliged!

You're right, generally you'll find organic or sintered, organic usually have better power and feel but don't last too long where as sintered have much better life. However you can get Kevlar which although I've not used them I've heard they offer almost the best of both.
I'm about to fit a set of racematrix pads from uberbike which are supposed to be very good.0 -
Superstar pads - £25 for a 4-pack of kevlar (option S2 for Tektro auriga). If you ride in wet and sandy/gritty conditions then you may want sintered as everything else wears pretty quick, but I use kevlar year round.Vitus Sentier VR+ (2018) GT Grade AL 105 (2016)
