Hi all,

Is there a speed sensor that will link to strava on an iphone? I'm not looking to upload data, I'd like to see my speed etc on strava

Thanks

Er yes, its called the Strava App?

    Find me on Strava
  • Guess I didn't explain enough. It's so I can use the strava app while on the turbo instead of having to manually add a ride once I've finished
  • I think there are a few devices such as Wahoo speed and cadence sensor that are compatible with smartphones- I expect they are Strava compatible but check to make sure though!

I must admit I don't really see the point in uploading turbo sessions to Strava, but each to their own 8)

Topeak make a bluetooth one that will synch to your iphone
  • Cheers fellas,
The topeak one looks like a good bet

I can totally see the point of it. Strava is a user-friendly, graphical and social way to record your training sessions, turbo or otherwise, and thus track your progress or compare with friends etc :D

Yes but on a turbo - you don't do any miles. Its all down to the resistance.

If you're going to do turbo session - do it properly and go trainerroad. Its awesome.

You do put time in and you still can have data like heart rate though. I like to have mine there, looking at my Strava encourages me to get the turbo time in during the winter.

What happens when Strava no longer is the encouragement?
I'm sorry you don't believe in miracles

Then I'll get lazy and will be in awful shape when the weather is nice?

To be honest, I don't find the turbo as labourious as some do. I tend to watch ice hockey while I'm on it.

If you don't find the turbo laborious then you aren't working hard enough. It's supposed to be laborious. I agree with Cougie, Trainer Road is the way to go for turbo sessions, if you're going to spend time on the turbo best to make it worthwhile time imo. :)
