Which Disc Brakes. Shimano CX77 or BB7's?

Hi all.
I'm getting a cyclocross bike built by Rose, for road/ off road/ light touring use. I have the option of the standard Shimano CX77 disc brakes, or the Avid BB7's. So I got 3 questions...
Does either one out perform the other?
Is one easier to set up and maintain?
Any other factors to consider?
If it purely comes down to looks, then I would get the BB7's.

Neither, tektro spyre. If they won't do that see which goes for more 2nd hand (prob bb7) and flog to get spyre0

What he said. There's a healthy used market for the Avids, so get those and flip them before you use the bike.0

Wrong forum for this really, but the Spyres are probably going to be easier to set up and adjust, as both pads move as opposed to just one.0

Get the BB7 and judge for yourself if you need to flog another 120 quid for the Spyre... I find single piston calipers excellent and having to turn two screws instead of one to adjust the pads is hardly a drawbackleft the forum March 20230
