Which adapters/tools will I need to upgrade my trek 3900

I recently just bought the shimano slx groupset as an upgrade for my 2006 trek 3900 (as seen here: http://www.evanscycles.com/products/trek/3900-2006-mountain-bike-ec023400). The parts in the groupset were:
Bottom Bracket:
SLX SM-BB70
Brakes:
SLX M675, Right lever rear brake, Left lever front brake. US Standard
Cassette:
HG81 10 Speed 11-34
Chain:
HG74 10 Speed
Chainset:
SLX M670 175mm 42/32/24
Front Mech:
M670A Triple
Rear Mech:
SLX M670 Long Cage
Shifters:
M670 3 × 10 Bar Mounted
Rotors:
RT64 160mm and 180mm, Centre Lock
I'm aware I might need mount adapters but I'm not sure whether they should be post to post or post to IS and what measurements they should be. Are there any other adapters I may need to get and what basic tools will I need to fit all of the parts in the groupset?
Thanks

You need to do a lot:
Swap the brake hoses over for rear-left, front-right braking.
New wheels as your's are not disc compatible.
Is there a disc caliper mount on the seat stay?
180mm IS to Post adaptor for the forks (assuming the forks can accomodate a 180mm rotor).
Tools needed include;
Allen keys
T25 torx bit
Torque wrench
Centre Lock tool for rotors
Cable cutter
The correct bottom bracket / chainset tool(s)“Life has been unfaithful
And it all promised so so much”

Tools: chain-breaker, two kinds of BB-tool (hollowtech and cartridge), a square-taper/octalink/isis crank remover, good-quality cable cutters, philips-head screwdriver, allen-key set, chain-whip and a cassette tool (doubles as a centrelock rotor tool). A spanner that fits the cartridge BB-tool and cassette will also be needed. The cartridge BB tool and st crank remover are only going to be needed once so maybe beg use of them from someone. Take a look at Park Tools' website for all the basic info. you need (you don't necessarily have to buy Park tools though, a lot of them are pretty overpriced for what they are). I think that's it (I can't think where you'd need a Torx t25, but JBA might be correct).
Now to the big question: does your frame even have a rear disc-brake mount? It doesn't look like it does in photos, but Trek have had some weird adapters that only they use and are rare as hens' teeth. I'm also assuming you've done something about the wheels, which don't seem to be disc-compatible as standard(?). The original fork has an IS mount, and a frame of that age would be the same (if it has a mount), so you need 180mm IS to PM adapters for front and rear (the rear is sometimes a front 160mm adapter).0 -
There is a rear disc mount on the frame thankfully, the holes look similar to the ones on the fork at least. So I would be safe purchasing a 180mm adapter for the rear as well right? What I'm slightly confused about is why the rotors are listed as 160mm and 180mm in the groupset.
As for the wheels, I will be upgrading them within the next year but I thought I might be able to use an adapter like this for my current wheels http://www.amazon.com/Shimano-SM-RTAD10-CenterLock-6-bolt-adapter/dp/B001GSSJDU if that's a possibility? I'm not entirely sure what I would be looking for in new wheels at a budget price, if anyone has any suggestions that would be great.0 -
The front rotor is often bigger. As this brake is used more.
You need a front post mount caliper to IS mount adaptor for 180mm rotor.
But yes, you'd need the hub adaptors to fit centrelock rotors. or try a set of these wheels:

Yep! Post caliper to IS mount.0

Great thanks, ordered the adapters
Just to confirm, will this toolset include most of what I need to fit the parts? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/361017277423 except for the torque wrench and wire cutters which I will get individually.

You don't need a torque wrench as long as you aren't ham fisted.
That kit doesn't include the HT2 BB tool, look on on-one at their tools, I'm sure their kit includes it.
It doesn't say what crank removal tool is in their, may as well get one that will do hollow axle (like ISIS) so you can future proof.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0 -

That'll probably do it, but I'd be wary of cheap crank extractors. They're snappy. There's no cable cutter that I can see either.0

I have two cheap crank extractors, use them properly and had no issues at all, not sure how you snap one either!Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0

Centrelock rotors can only be fitted to centrelock hubs, there's no adapters to fit them to non centrelock hubs.
There is adapters to fit 6 bolt rotors to centrelock hubs.JeevenSD wrote:There is a rear disc mount on the frame thankfully, the holes look similar to the ones on the fork at least.
Are the holes 51mm from center to center?
If they aren't then they aren't brake mounts.
I didn't think old 3900's has disc brake mounts on the frame.
If it doesn't have them you'd need:

The fork will need the following if it has 51mm IS brake mounts:
