Hi Guys
I am really interested in getting into mountain biking however i am confusing myself on what sort of bike i want. I notice that there are a lot of different mountain bike shapes/geometries available.
I am after a hardtail, and im pretty sure i dont want a XC but a tougher trail riding big fork set up.
I have a 2007 Marin Northside Trail at the moment which i had from young but it is a small frame and i feel it is too small for me at 5'11" however all the hard tail bikes i look at and like
This Post for example: http://www.pinkbike.com/forum/listcomme ... agenum=509
All are slanted frames and similar geometry to the Marin i currently own, obviously a bit better but I am wondering whether i already have a bike for trail riding or would buying a larger frame of a bike i like the look of online be a good move or ruin that slanted look.
I really like the look of the On-One 456 and it is in my price range however i wouldn't know what size to order.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Does the bike feel too small in reach? Can you get the seatpost up enough? Try and see if you can find the geometry figures for your Marin, then we can do some comparisons.0

Thanks for the reply mate, I have the seat at full extension and the it feels like I'm bending over to reach the bars, out of proportion I would say. Il find the sizes for it as soon as possible!0

I had a measure up last night and from where i was measuring it is a 15" or 16" small frame.. The seat post is at full extension for climbing and i feel when im on it, it looks out of proportion..
I have made a decision on what bike i am going to go for just need to work out sizes now, the On One 456 Evo II however i dont know whether to go 18" or 20" or go 650B wheels or stick with 26"

As before, need to look at top tube length. Can you find a link to your bike?0

I cannot find a link but i will measure the top tube length later on today.. thanks for your replies0

I'm 5'11" (and a half ) and averagely proportioned I'd say and I'd be getting the 18" looking at the measurements and comparing to what I'm riding now"Why have that extra tooth if you're not using it?" - Brian Lopes

Think he's refering to the On-One 456, which is steel._______________

Aaah, then I would suggest not going for the raw finish. Simple.I don't do smileys.
