Bike shops that accept trade ins

I am considering changing my road bike.
Would like to trade in the Caad9 rather than sell it.
Can anyone please suggest a bike shop that may take a trade in?

Wish you luck on that. Car dealerships generally sell used cars but I've never seen a bike shop that normally sells new and second hand bikes (at least not at the volume end). So, unless you can find one like that, what is in it for the shop to buy your old bike off you unless at an extremely undervalued rate? £100 OK? You'll get a far better price selling on Ebay or in the classifieds here.
Also, it's going to be a long drive to Inverness to drop off your bike if you live in Cornwall or Guatemala. You might want to give people a hint of where you live in order to answer this one sensibly!Faster than a tent.......0 -
leisure lakes take bikes as trade ins, i agree that you'll probably get a better price through ebay or through a bike forums classified section, particularly if your caad is in good nick, possibly a few quid more if it's one of the made in usa modelsTell the stars I'm coming,

That's going to be a dire deal. a) the bike will be worth well over what Evans will give you for it and b) you could probably negotiate most of the discount without giving them a bike at all.Faster than a tent.......0 -
Indeed, but insisting on trading in rather than a separate sale you are never going to get what the bike is worth.
One thing we often forget when looking at trading something in is that the shop will have to "pay" significantly less than the trade price of a new one.

Any trade-in needs to factor in the costs of service/parts if needed, plus the need to make a decent margin - only expect 50%-60% of 'market' value.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0

My LBS occasionally seems to take bikes in px. It's Rileys cycles, in Sherborne. Mainly does Merida and a few cheapy brands.0
