close ratio shimano zee rear mech with wide ratio cassette??

hi,

what will happen if you pair close ratio shimano zee m640 rd (up to 28t) with wide ratio cassette 11-36t ?? :?:

    Only one way to find out but I wouldn't. There's a reason why Shimano give a maximum capacity for it.

    It may not be able to control the chain so it goes slack in the highest gears, it may be that the upper jockey wheel won't clear the biggest sprocket as well.
    Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.
