Can't get pedal off

I'm trying to replace the pedals on my bike

The drive side came off fairly trouble free, the the opposite side feels almost like it was welded in place!

And also just so you know, I'm aware it loosens clockwise!

I'm using a 15mm spanner and I've also tried giving it a knock with a mallet! Along with plenty of WD-40

I'm really at a loss as to what to do to get it off

Any ideas?

big old (or new) wrench should do it. If you don't have one, go and ask someone nicely that does. And don't forget to put some grease on the new pedal thread before installing

More leverage? Point crank forward, fit spanner pointing towards the front wheel - press foot on pedal as you pull-up hard with both hands.

Do the pedal spindle have an allen key hole on the end? Like so...



If not go with Monty's suggestion.

Take the crank off, clamp in a massive vice then use an enormous spanner.


More strength is rarely the answer with pedals, more secure crank hold and more leverage makes it easy
