Hi, Bought a Trek fuel 6 with a bottle cage bolt missing which turns out is missing the whole thread! I have researched this and found there is something called a rivnut that secures into the frame so I'm now wondering which size rivnut I need to order and is there a certain type? I know there is a special rivnut tool to buy aswel which I will get too.

They are generally M5 and in this country, the UK, are usually known as nutserts. Rivnut is an american abomination.
Get aluminium ones, the hole size should be 7.1mm in case you have to fit in a different place due to the original hole being too much oversize.
