Ksyrium Equipe

There are currently some good deals to be had on 2013 Ksyrium Equipe WTS wheelsets, but they don't get mentioned too often around these parts. Why not? Are they any good? They weigh in at just over 1700g, 20-20 spokes, and are a lot cheaper than the Elites.

Where exactly do they fit in between the Aksium and Elite? In the middle, closer to one than the other? Similarly, how would they compare with the Cosmic Elites? Less aero, I guess. In terms of general riding, are there any other trade offs?

The Equipe fits in between the Aksium and Elite and to some extent shares some characteristics of each. The main difference over the Aksium is that the Equipe has a different rear hub with what Mavic refer to as Isopulse technology, where the spokes are laced radially on the drive side and two cross on the non drive side to provide a slightly stiffer wheel.

The Cosmic Elite is closer to the Aksium in terms of hub technology and spoke lacing. If a slightly more aero profile is more suited to your riding style then they may be worth considering, otherwise the Equipe will offer versatile and durable performance wherever the road takes you.
