OK

I used to be a dedicated road and mountain cyclist, but due to kids and blah blah blah haven't been riding much for 8-10 years.

Now I am going to train to ride across the country next summer. Its going to be awesome because my wife is gonna drive an RV and set up at the day's destination and have dinner ready each day. And sleep in a bed.

And exceptionally awesome because I can ride a nice light bike and not a heavy touring pig bike.

And Im even thinking about taking two bikes - a super light carbon Gary Fisher Cronus set up for climbing and my trusty Bontrager steal steed for flats and downhills.

So Im asking y'all for advice on tires.

In my younger days I based all of my decisions on cost - the cheaper the better.

Now Im most interested in performance. So I want advice on tires for the each bike.

All my wheels are clinchers.

One set of super light neuvation wheels that Ill use to climb, and a heavier set of Mavics that will probably be used most of the time.

Specifics:

Me: 220 pounds now - planning on being under 200 when the ride starts

Any and all advice/suggestions very much appreciated
