Which spokes?

The current wheels on my Whyte T129 works are terrible, need truing after a few rides, so I am getting some new ones built.
I already have 29er Stans ZTR Flow EX rims and Hope Pro 2 Evo hubs ready for the build.
Some bike shops are going to use double butted spokes and others use single, is there really a big difference in the two?
I understand the double butted flex a little more, do I need this flex so the wheel is not to rigid, as the ones fitted to the bike have double butted spokes?
Will the single butted really transfer that much more trail buzz through the bike and will they put more stress on the rim eye holes wearing them quicker?
I like the idea of the single butted as there is not much room in the back end of the bike and less flex means less likely to catch on the tight chain stays but do not want the new rims wearing prematurely.
Advice on the positive and negative and which you would use and why would be appreciated.

Spokes are either plain gauge or double butted. Not aware of any single butted spokes. Butted spokes are stronger, and lighter. Personally for the minor expense I'd always go butted.0

Yeah they are single gauge, I was reading Sheldon Brown and on that site it says single butted, but you got what I meant.
Thanks for the reply.Transition Trans AM 27.5

There are plain gauge, and single/double/triple butted spokes. The flex depends on the centre section gauge.
How much do you weigh?0 -
Who does a single butted spoke out of interest? I was racking my brain to think of one.
Edit: Sapim do. Fail on my part.0 -

I'd go for standard db spokes, 14/15/14 gauge. Builds into a more durable wheel than pg.0
