A few weeks back my Campagnolo Zonda hub broke, thankfully it was under warranty so I sent them back for a replacement set. I received the replacements today and couldn't be happier, apart from the hub is totally slight. My previous set made a lovely noise and people could hear you free wheel from miles.

Should I be disappointed? Should I return them again or just question it with the supplier?

Mine are silent too, it's all down to the amount of grease on the pawls.

  • If it bothers you that much, whip the cassette off then take off the freehub body. Wipe off some of the grease from the pawls and put it back together. Your noisy freehub will return!

    Why did the original fail?

Perhaps it being noisy wasnt a good thing.

Just ride it, it will start making the standard Campag noise soon enough. New Campag wheels are all like that.
