Help with gear change problem?

Hi Guys,
I've been a long term fan of this forum checking similar problems out and finding answers, so I hope you lot can help me out on this problem!
I'm somewhat of a bike newbie, using a hybrid for commuting but recently treat myself to a road bike, and it works great apart from when I change in to the highest gear, the chain slips everytime without fail. Upon closer inspection it seems there is not enough cogs on the rear cassette for the amount of gears the bike has.
What are the solutions to this? is it as simple as buying a new rear cassette with enough cogs and fitting that or is it much complex.
Any help is much appreciated!
Danny

Google adjusting rear derailleur limit screws, your bottom limit screw needs dialling in a bit as I think what is a happening is as you change to smallest cog the derailleur is pushing it too far.
