Hi all

Not much mud around at the minute thankfully but I am thinking of getting some for later in the year. A mate of mine has had some but they look shocking. Im after some white ones that won't make my bike look ridiculous. Can anyone recommend any?

Cheers

Mucky Nutz Bender Fender is available in white and works well. I use the normal ones when it's normal weather and the XL version in winter or when it's super wet.

+2 I do have a crud catcher, but I only use that when it's cold, as it seems to cover your crotch area a lot more, and a cold wet crotch isn't nice. A bender fender paired with a crud catcher is almost impenetrable.

Cheers guys. Is the bender gender the front guard? What about the rear?

I don't think any rear guards exist that don't make the bike look ridiculous  Waterproof shorts/trousers are a better idea IMO.

That's what I thought lol. Is the bender fender now called the face fender or is that a different guard?

I run a Mucky Nutz butt fender, does a good job if keeping the worst of the mud off my ass.

Some people like them, personally I think they will clog with mud and look ugly, but that's just my opinion.

I tried a Mucky Nutz on my Mega but it looked shite and didn't sit right so have resigned myself to getting dirty, but then this is mountain biking and getting dirty is all part of the fun :)

  • yeh to be honest i think this but thought i would give it a go.

the irony is i find it most uncomfortable to get the spray from the rear wheel etc especially on a long ride with a sogy bum

however i will fit this gaurd and see if i like it.

Depends what the frame is but you can use the Bender Fender on the rear as well.

I'm not bothered if they don't look good as the reason i use one on the front to avoid mud, stones etc from scratching up the fork stanchions.

Keeping cowshit and agrochemicals out of your mouth is a pretty good reason, too.
