Hello! I'm a 15 year old, and I'm interested in starting road biking. I usually go in park trails or on streets, and generally I go on somewhat flat ground. I like going down hills occassionally, and I usually go around 30km/h on my current (horrible) bike.

I'm 5'11 and weigh 120 pounds (male), so I'm wondering which bike would you recommend and for what reason?
GT Series 4:

Specialized Allez:

Thank you for your time! I cannot read the specs :/

5'11" and 120#? You should be buying burgers not bikes.

In any case buy this instead: http://www.merlincycles.com/felt-f95-road-bike-2014-72331.html
    English Cycles V3 | Cervelo P5 | Cervelo T4 | Trek Domane Koppenberg
  • Sorry I can only choose between those. :/
And yes I'm pretty skinny. Which is better, GT Series 4 or Specialized????

Looks like they both have similar groupsets, probably isn't much in it.

Test both and pick what feels better

The Allez has a pretty good reputation as an entry level bike that you could eventually upgrade once the bits start to wear out.

It also has wider gearing with an 11-30 cassette against a 12-25 on the GT. That might be useful initially while you are building fitness.

But as mentioned above that most important thing is that fit and feel of the bike. Get some test rides under your belt and then make the decision.

The allez ihas a good reputataion and if you ever want to upgrade then the allez will probably hold its value better
  • Thank you!

Merlin seem to be out of stock. here's Wiggle's.

You won't get a better bike than that for the money, plus Wiggle will fully prepare for you, it'll arrive in a box, put the wheels and handlebars on and you're ready to go!
Well worth a wee bit more, Sora is a great gruppo, that being full Sora, not one Sora component on the likes of the Gt.

If you have to go for one of the two, pick the one that you think looks the best.
