Hi All

I am fairly set on buying the Specialized Secteur, but I was wondering whether someone can explain the difference between the standard version and the Sport version. I have a comparison of the specs below (standard specs first, sport afterwards), but I don't really understand bike components.

The Sport is on sale at Evans at the moment (the standard is not) and would cost an extra £115; I'm really trying to guage whether it is worthwhilse spending that extra money. Thanks.

The main difference is the Sora groupset over Claris. I'm not too familiar with Claris to be able to give a view.

What about the Allez Sport? It seems better value to me. It's a racier position than the Secteur, so it's down to what you want to do with the bike. It's also a compact which IMO is a better choice than a tripple but depends on your location and climbing ability.

Thanks for the reply. I had initially considered the Allez, but I decided to go for the Secteur as it would have a more comfortable riding position.
  • Hi I have the sectuer sport, sora chain set. It's a cracking bike I've not had any bother over the 2000 miles I've done since April.

Thanks Kenny, certainly looks like a good bike.
