Rockrider 8.1 2013 for £250?

Hi, I've got the chance of buying the rockrider as above. Think it's a good deal but would like some opinions. It's in pretty much mint condition and hardly looks used.
I'm just getting into off road biking a bit more as the kids are starting to grow up and are getting a little more independent, so I will be doing a mix of trail riding (kids in tow) and gentle to medium off roading (freeeeedddddooooommmmmmm!)
I've also heard that the tyres are a bit rubbish in the wet, so is it worth swapping them, or should I wait for a while and see how I go?
