Maximum hear rate

Completely personal and impossible to answer. There's no reason you shouldn't get very near to your own maximum when training, but no one can tell you what that is, you need to find out yourself.0

Maximum heart rate really depends on your physical attributes. Age plays an important role as well - as you age your maximum heart rate lowers. Your max hr may be 200 at the age of 18, but only 150 at the age of 60.
A rough estimate of your maximum heart rate can be calculated as "220 minus age". If you're 30 your maximum heart rate should be somewhere around 190 BPM.
Alternatively, you can make use of max heart rate calculator which uses many different formulas to evaluate your results.
Hope this helps.0 -
Theoretical formulas aren't worth bothering with and the same applies to auto-calculators on monitors. Max HR is pretty irrelevant and, if you're wanting a figure to produce training zones from, you're far better off testing for Functional Lactate Threshold .... how to test here, (assuming you're a BC Member or just google for a 20-min protocol) http://www.britishcycling.org.uk/zuvvi/ ...
