I have a loverly giant ocr 3 2005 model

but its a bit old and I am thinking of getting a new bike, however I am unsure if I should just get some new wheels and a shimano 105 groupset just update what I have??

The bike I was looking at was a felt f75, although the frame and folks seem similar to what I have which is why I am questioning the decision and open for options..

Many thanks

Unless your current Giant OCR actually needs new wheels or other expensive parts (or you are dissatisfied with the wheels / parts), then I don't think the Felt F75 would be much of an upgrade. Also the 8-speed setup on the Giant is actually more durable than a 10-speed would be - more metal on the rear gears and the chain.

For better performance, perhaps try different tires and get light-weight butyl inner tubes.

  • I would go for the Felt. I mean, if you just want a new bike, go buy it! That is as good a reason as any.
BTW, that looks like a great deal for a 105 bike.
