Hello everybody

I want to upgrade to a new bike, but I am debating between
what the best size is for me.
I think I'll buy the colnago cx-1 evo next week, but I don't know if the
50s is the best size for me over the 52s.
My current bike is the specialized allez 52cm with 53.7cm top tube,
130cm headtube and 48cm seat tube to top length.
I feel very crowded in those bike and I sit high with a 110mm raised stem.
Overall, the bike feel tiny and I get neck pain.

In my searching, I saw that the 50s cx-1 have the same top tube length(53.7) like my specialized,
but with 148cm headtube, Compared to the 52s cx-1 that with 55cm TT and 167cm headtube.
How the headtube length are affect the frame?
I am 173cm(5 ft 8.11) tall and with 81cm(2 ft 7.89) inseam.
What do you think is the best frame for me for maximum comfort?

Thank you so much :)

  • 55cm TT will probably have you over-stretching, what is your ape?

    What do you mean ape?

If 55cm TT will be oversize so what should I go with.

52s is too big for someone 5ft 8.

Ape is arm span measurement relative to your height

No it isn't actually, it depends on limb dimensions, reach and stack.

You mean I need the 50s?

I spend a lot of $$$$ and I'm afraid I will buy again too small frame.
The other geometric parameters on the 50s cx-1 will affect the frame that I would feel more space an comfortable
on the bike, compared to my 52cm specialized?
I do not want to buy a new bike and feeling cramped.

    Thank you

Are you really going to buy a bike in a size based on random comments of complete strangers on this forum?
Go to a bike shop and get yourself measured.

How can I find the measures of the reach and stack on the cx-1?
